Open your eyes!
Look at what you have done!
You have become blind! Even in the darkness…
The light was too bright for you and the darkness;
Probably too vivid and so you did what you thought best and pulled me into the darkness with you. Though unlike your perishing candle…, Mine was bright with a billion sparks scattered like a cloudless night sky; a full moon, bright and full of life.
Slowly, like yours…, My fire started to dim, because you were feeding off my light, I guess it was because your light was gone and the darkness was catching up to you.
You were running out of options and there I was; a fresh gazelle; and you… a young lion who had just left his mother’s nest. We were both ready to explore the world.
Did you really mean all you said or was I only on your way?
A young victim who has encountered their first predator. But how can you blame me, you were the perfect definition of a wolf in sheep’s skin; coated with the finest of wool or…, was I just too ingenuous?
Still, there I was, fresh and naive, believing the world would serve me. That it would listen to my every command. I was naive, I admit, but there was only so much I could offer.
Sooner or later, I knew it would not be enough. But I held on, deterred by lust …, blinded by love…, or so I thought.
Until you showed me your true self, selfish. But that was not where my dislike for you originated. It was when you looked into my eyes and lied for the first time, “I love you” with a straight face, but cold eyes. And green little me threw myself into your masculine arm. Believing every word but afraid it was all a lie.
I still held on though, trusting in your strength but draining myself any hope of freedom as I tangled myself with your net. And like a great fisherman, you pulled me out; special, rare, separated from the common; and ready for harvest. But under cautious observation because rare species…, as you had come to discover, are unpredictable.
To Be CoNtInUeD…,
